About the event
Some artists create an identity when they move to Nashville, while others are born with one. South Carolina native Warren Garrett certainly fits with the latter. As a child, he lifted a pair of CDs from his mom’s collection -- Hank Williams Jr. and Stevie Ray Vaughn records -- and the rest is history. Garrett cut his chops as a lead guitar player in local rock bands, while also learning the back end of production as a sound engineer for a live music venue. After moving to Nashville, he began focusing on the kind of artist he wanted to be, and that selfreflection continuously came back to those first two records he stole from his mother. Pulling inspiration from those car trips with his parents when the radio could be on any station playing any style music,
Garrett shows his versatility when necessary. Garrett has found a unique way to pull those influences together and create an identity of his own in Music City. “If I’m going to write and put out music, I’m going to be raw and real and 100% me.”
